You hear it a lot when you start a small business, “you really need to start a blog.”
“Do I? I sell fabric books – why would I need a blog?”
“Well...its important, it helps with your SEO.”
“Hmm…okay...not entirely sure what that is.”
“It helps with discoverability and marketing."
It feels weird to say that I’m starting a blog, and for a while I really questioned what I could possibly have to talk about, and if anyone would even be interested in what I had to say.
The fear factor is a real thing you guys.
But, then I really started thinking about it. I thought about the whirlwind these past two years have been; I moved house, planned a DIY wedding, got pregnant on my honeymoon, became a mum to twins, started a business, breastfed for a year and on top of all this, two weeks ago I returned to work.
So much change; in all that there has to be something worth writing about.
So there will be musings and mutterings on being a mum, running a small business, juggling work and trying to figure out how to do all of this, stay sane and stay me.
So now that I’ve said it, I’m going to commit to writing something here once a week (hard to commit to anything when you’ve got kids – but hey lets give it a go.) I promise to make it as interesting as I can and a worthwhile read (perfect for those late night feeding sessions ;)
Now that I’ve said it out loud, I guess I’m going to just have to do it.
See you next Sunday.
